Delete your Sunless Grove profile and data

Sunless Grove by Owlnight Studio (Oleksandr Shaniuk, individual entrepreneur, Ukraine) has no registration: the game creates an anonymous profile on first launch. You can delete it — and the data tied to it — yourself, in the game, in a few seconds. This page also lists what is kept afterwards and why, and explains what to do if you no longer have the game installed.

In the game (instant)

1. Open Settings (the gear in the main menu).
2. Scroll to Profile.
3. Tap Delete profile and confirm.

That is it. The deletion needs an internet connection so that the cloud copy goes too; if you are offline the game tells you and nothing is deleted until you retry.

What is deleted

Immediately, when you confirm in the game:

• your anonymous account on our servers;
• your cloud save (heroes, souls and sun shards, statistics, talents, season progress and settings);
• your nickname and all your daily-challenge scores and leaderboard entries;
• the link between your player ID and any purchase records (the records themselves are kept anonymised — see below);
• the profile on your device (the game starts over as new).

Also gone shortly after:

• crash reports linked to your player ID expire within 90 days (they contain no personal details).

What is kept, and why

• Purchase records (store transaction ID, product, price, date) are kept for 3 years from the end of the year of the purchase for accounting, tax and refund purposes, as Ukrainian law requires — without your player ID or any other identifier of your player, so they no longer point to you. Your app-store account keeps its own purchase history under Apple's or Google's rules.
• Play statistics (if you had allowed them) stay as pseudonymous events under your old player ID, which after deletion refers to nobody, for up to 12 months. If you want those deleted as well, e-mail us — see below.

If you cannot open the game

Use the request form at the bottom of this page, or write to privacy@owlnightstudio.com from any e-mail address with the subject "Delete my data" — either way include your Player ID — the code shown in Settings → Profile ("Player ID …"). Because profiles are anonymous, the Player ID is the only way we can find your data; a message without it cannot be acted on, and we may ask you to confirm the request from within the game if it is still installed. We confirm the deletion within 30 days. The same address handles any other request about your data (access, correction, objection) — see the Privacy Policy, section 7.

Reinstalling later

A deleted profile cannot be restored. Non-consumable purchases (such as No Ads or a hero bought for money) are tied to your app-store account and can be restored on a new profile with Restore purchases in the shop; virtual items and consumable purchases are not.
